Why convert WebP to JPG
WebP works well on the modern web, while JPG remains the most broadly accepted format for photographs. Converting is useful when a form rejects WebP or an older image viewer cannot open it.
Because both formats can use lossy compression, avoid repeatedly converting the same image. Keep the original WebP and create a JPG only for the destination that needs it.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent WebP areas?
JPG has no transparency. Transparent areas are replaced with the background color selected in the converter.
Which quality setting should I use?
The default is suitable for most photos. Increase it for fine detail or lower it when file size matters more than small visual differences.
Can conversion restore the original photo quality?
No. If the WebP was compressed with quality loss, converting it to JPG cannot recover removed image data.
